Description

Medieval and/or post-medieval trackways are visible on historic aerial photographs and remote sensing data as earthworks and was mapped as part of the North Buckinghamshire Aerial Investigation and Mapping project. Located across Rammamere Heath, sinuous trackways between 1.5 and 8 metres wide and up to 200 metres long cross the heath N-S and W-E. Given the proximity of a number of extractive pits on the heath that may be related to the late 19th century coprolite industry, it is likely that some of these may have been associated with that activity (1-3).
