Description

A trackway and boundaries of medieval date is visible on historic aerial photographs and remote sensing data as extant earthworks and were mapped as part of the North Buckinghamshire Aerial Investigation and Mapping project (EBC18304). Located on the south side of Main Street Adstock and centred at SP 73435 29992. These earthworks are of a linear trackway with what appear to be boundaries at right angles to it, with some internal earthworks to the north of the trackway. If these are former house and garden boundaries of the village of Adstock the layout is very different in character to the rest of the village which has a more irregular layout of houses and gardens along a sinuous road and around the church. Earthworks of the ridge and furrow field system are immediately to the south of this trackway. (1-3)
