Description

Parallel linear ditches of possible medieval date are visible on historic aerial photographs as earthworks and were mapped as part of the North Buckinghamshire Aerial Investigation and Mapping project (EBC18304). Located approximately 370m south west of Grange Farm, Padbury, and centred at SP 72385 31336. Ridge and furrow earthworks are visible all around these ditches, and some of these earthworks are parallel to the ditches, but these ditches do not appear to be part of these. The 1591 map shows this area as Stighgate Furl, and these ditches are in a gap between the areas of ridge and furrow shown on this map. (1-5)
