Description

Boundaries of medieval/post medieval date is visible on historic aerial photographs and remote sensing data as extant earthworks and was mapped as part of the North Buckinghamshire Aerial Investigation and Mapping project (EBC18304). Located within a garden at Old End, Padbury, and centred at SP 471586 230473. Linear earthworks of former boundaries within a field now within the village at Old End, at the south end of Padbury. The 1591 map of the parish shows this area as a group of gardens, no buildings are shown, with a widening road running along the western edge of the plots; the edge of the road is still visible as a substantial earthwork bank. The only owner/occupier name given is Tho. Harris and when georeferenced these earthworks fit with what the map shows. (1-6)
