Description
Medieval and/or post-medieval trackways and field boundaries, along with some ditches of uncertain date and function, are visible on aerial photographs as cropmarks and were mapped as part of the North Buckinghamshire Aerial Investigation and Mapping project (EBC18304). Located in fields north of Kaye’s Farm and centred at SP 69031 41654, sections of sinuous parallel double-ditched trackway yup to 2 metres wide and between 2 and 3 metres apart extend 640 metres ESE-WNW, leading toward Chapel Green and Luffield Abbey. To the north on the same alignment is a field boundary and to the west, a boundary marking the border of two areas of woodland, both of which are recorded on the 1814 Ordnance Surveyors Drawing but cleared by the 1880s publications of the 1st Edition OS map. Also visible are small sections of ditch of uncertain date and function (1-2).
