Description

A complex of post-medieval parallel linear drainage ditches is visible on historic aerial photographs and remote sensing data as earthworks and was mapped as part of the North Buckinghamshire Aerial Investigation and Mapping project (EBC18304). Located across four fields WNW of Old Leighton Farm and centred at SP 83286 27753, a series of parallel linear drainages aligned SW-NE extend over an area about 455 metres N-S and 490 metres W-E. To the SW is a curving earthwork boundary bank up to 5.5 metres wide and 175 metres, flanked on either side by a narrow boundary ditch. On aerial photographs taken in 2019 and recent remote sensing data, the features are almost all levelled and no longer visible (1-3).
