Description
A post medieval sand or gravel pit is visible on historic aerial photographs and remote sensing data as a levelled earthwork and was mapped as part of the North Buckinghamshire Aerial Investigation and Mapping project (EBC18304). Located in a field about 310 metres NW of Bungler’s Hall and centred at SP 85190 28543, the oval extractive pit is about 1,665 square metres in area. The pit is not recorded on historic editions of the OS maps. Recent remote sensing data shows that the pit has been infilled and levelled, but its outline is still visible (1-2).
