Monument record MBC45324 - Trackway approximately 540m north east of Dunstall Lodge, Padbury

A trackway of medieval date is visible on historic aerial photographs and remote sensing data as extant earthworks and levelled earthworks and was mapped as part of the North Buckinghamshire Aerial Investigation and Mapping project (EBC18304). Located approximately 540m north east of Dunstall Lodge, Padbury, and centred at SP 72126 31642. Trackway between areas of ridge and furrow earthworks in 1946, modern land use has ploughed the northern end level although it can be seen as cropmarks and soilmarks on Google Earth over many years. A 1591 map of Padbury shows the furlong names and the trackyway; the trackway is Little Bamrache Waye and it is approximately 275m to the east of Greate Bamrache Waye, and it runs between Great Bamrache Furl on the west side and Whitlandes Furl and Great Whitlandes on the East side. The ridge and furrow earthworks are identifiable on the 1591 map. (1-6)
