Description
A pit of medieval/post medieval date is visible on historic aerial photographs and remote sensing data as extant earthworks and was mapped as part of the North Buckinghamshire Aerial Investigation and Mapping project (EBC18304). Located approximately 260m north east of Manor Farm, Lenborough, Buckingham, and centred at SP 70082 31453. This extractive pit is on the north side of the deserted settlement at Lenborough, at the end of a trackway close to Manor Farm. Underlying solid geology is Peterborough Mudstone overlain by superficial deposits of Till Diamicton. This pit may be associated with the settlement rather than being an extractive pit. (1-3)
