Description

A post-medieval coprolite working is visible on historic aerial photographs and remote sensing data as earthworks and was mapped as part of the North Buckinghamshire Aerial Investigation and Mapping project (EBC18304). Located to the north of Nares Gladley Farm and centred at SP 90883 28140, the irregularly shaped pit covers an area about 2,668 square metres. One of a group of three adjacent extraction sites, it would likely have ceased extraction by the end of the 19th century and remains extant on aerial photographs taken in 2019 and recent remote sensing data (1-4).
