Description
A post medieval sand or gravel pit is visible on historic aerial photographs and remote sensing data as a levelled earthwork and was mapped as part of the North Buckinghamshire Aerial Investigation and Mapping project (EBC18304). Located in a field about 290 metres SE of Bletchley Lane and centred at SP 85526 27555, the irregularly shaped extractive pit is about 872 square metres in area. The pit is not recorded on historic editions of the OS maps. Recent remote sensing data shows that the pit has been infilled and levelled (1-2).
