  • BOUNDARY DITCH (Medieval to Post-Medieval - 1066 AD to 1798 AD)

Description

A boundary ditch medieval date is visible on historic aerial photographs and remote sensing data as extant earthworks and was mapped as part of the North Buckinghamshire Aerial Investigation and Mapping project (EBC18304). Located on the east side of Bridge Street, Thornborough, and centred at SP 74520 33251. This boundary ditch is on the edge of ridge and furrow, on the south side of the village; it is not shown on the Ordnance Survey Epoch 1 map and modern land use of overgrown pasture, obscures some of it on aerial photographs.
