Description

An extractive pit post medieval/modern date is visible on historic aerial photographs and remote sensing data as extant earthworks and was mapped as part of the North Buckinghamshire Aerial Investigation and Mapping project (EBC18304). Located approximately 250m south of Thornborough Mill, Thornborough, and centred at SP 73447 35071. The pit is roughly subrectangular in shape and measures approximately 62x52m; the underlying geology is White Limestone and no Superficial deposits are recorded. (1-2)
