Description

A sewage works of modern date is visible on historic aerial photographs as buildings and was mapped as part of the North Buckinghamshire Aerial Investigation and Mapping project (EBC18304). Located east of Buckingham, approximately 220m south of the A422, Buckingham, and centred at SP 70151 34048. The 1940s aerial photographs show two small circular filter beds, a small rectangular building and subrectangular tanks; these are at the edge of the area with large flat areas, divided by banks, in between. By 1961 this sewage farm has been replaced by larger circular filter beds and more settling tanks. By 2003 all these structures are gone and the area is an open space with no trace of the previous features. (1-3)
