Description

Linear features of medieval and post medieval/modern date are visible on historic aerial photographs and remote sensing data as earthworks and were mapped as part of the North Buckinghamshire Aerial Investigation and Mapping project (EBC18304). Located approximately 670m north of Lenborough Farm, Gawcott with Lenborough, and centred at SP 70591 30731. A boundary ban and ditch continues the line of the edge of an area of ridge and furrow; to the south of these drainage ditches are cut across the field. To the north of the boundary bank and ditch a trackway continues from the west, from the shrunken settlement earthworks at Manor Farm, Lenborough (MBC1947), and is shown on Ordnance Survey Epoch 1 map as a footpath. No ridge and furrow earthworks are visible on this area on the 1940s aerial photographs but they remain to the west. (1-3)
