Monument record MBC45208 - Linear features approximately 670m north east of Lenborough Farm, Gawcott with Lenborough

The cropmarks of boundary ditches and possible trackways of uncertain date can be seen on HE Reconnaissance aerial photographs taken on 5th September 2013. They are centred on SP 7076 3077. These cropmarks are straight and where they run parallel to each other appear to form trackways, in one place forming a T-junction. The relationship between these cropmarks and a short length of hedgerow field boundary suggest that they may be medieval or post medieval in date. However, overall, their relationship with the current field pattern is slight (1).

Linear features of uncertain date are visible on historic aerial photographs as extant cropmarks and were mapped as part of the North Buckinghamshire Aerial Investigation and Mapping project (EBC18304). Located approximately 670m north east of Lenborough Farm, Gawcott with Lenborough and centred at SP 70741 30704. Linear features are probable field boundaries and track/drove ways; they are not shown on any historical mapping available to the project. Trackways, one is 10m wide and the other 16m wide, join at right angles and other linear features are parallel to these, which may be field boundaries. No ridge and furrow earthworks are visible on this area. (3-4)
