Description
A post medieval extractive pit is visible on historic aerial photographs and remote sensing data as earthworks and was mapped as part of the North Buckinghamshire Aerial Investigation and Mapping project (EBC18304). Located in a field immediately adjacent Claydon Hill Farm and centred at SP 72091 27903, an irregularly shaped extractive pit is about 836 square metres in area and appears to cut into a block of medieval ridge and furrow cultivation earthworks. The extraction does not feature on historic OS map editions. On recent remote sensing data and aerial photographs taken in 2019, the extractive pit still visible (1-3).
