Description

An extractive pit of probable post medieval/modern date is visible on historic aerial photographs and remote sensing data as extant earthworks and was mapped as part of the North Buckinghamshire Aerial Investigation and Mapping project (EBC18304). Located west of the site of shrunken settlement/site of manor house south of Claydon Brook, Granborough, and centred at SP 75885 26076. Pit is cut in to Weymouth Mudstone and is along the line of the brook, cut in to ridge and furrow earthworks and visible as partly waterfilled in 1947. (1-2)
