Description

A continuation of a boundary bank of medieval/post medieval date is visible on historic aerial photographs and remote sensing data as extant levelled earthworks and was mapped as part of the North Buckinghamshire Aerial Investigation and Mapping project (EBC18304). Located approximately 320m north of Hydelane Farm, Leckhampstead, and centred at SP 72943 in 1940s continues in a levelled earthwork to meet the line of the road. This section is visible on the 1814 Ordnance Surveyors’ Drawing of Stony Stratford. Late 20th century field amalgamation has removed field boundaries resulting in one very large field; the field boundaries are gone by 1993 but some of these are still visible as levelled earthworks.
