Description
An irregular shaped extractive pit of post medieval/modern date is visible on historic aerial photographs and remote sensing data as extant levelled earthworks and was mapped as part of the North Buckinghamshire Aerial Investigation and Mapping project (EBC18304). Located approximately 190m north west of Leckhampstead Wharf, Leckhampstead, and centred at SP 73614 35995. The pit is approximately 40x41m in size and the underlying geology is Great Oolite Group overlain by Glaciofluvial Sands and Gravels. (1-4)
