Description

Drainage ditches of post medieval/modern date are visible on historic aerial photographs and remote sensing data as extant earthworks and were mapped as part of the North Buckinghamshire Aerial Investigation and Mapping project (EBC18304). Located on the south side of the River Great Ouse, west of Thornton College, Thornton, and centred at SP 74477 35815. These ditches are parallel to the river and the southernmost ditches have a bank on the southern side, around areas of remaining ridge and furrow earthworks, modern land use is pasture along the flood plain.
