Description

Boundary ditches of probable post medieval date are visible on historic aerial photographs as soilmarks and were mapped as part of the North Buckinghamshire Aerial Investigation and Mapping project (EBC18304). Located at Grove Spinney, not far from the site of Grove Barn, approximately 130m north of the A422, Leckhampstead, and centred at SP 73671 36425. These boundary ditches are continuations of the outer boundaries of Grove Spinney. The underlying geology is also influential in that a linear deposit of Head, giving different soil conditions, underlies the whole area of the wood and these ditches. Soilmarks show this change in geology.
