Description

Two extractive pits of post medieval/modern date are visible on historic aerial photographs and remote sensing data as extant earthworks and were mapped as part of the North Buckinghamshire Aerial Investigation and Mapping project (EBC18304). Located south of the River Leck, approximately 200m to the west of the church, Church End, Leckhampstead, and centred at SP 72445 37852. The pits are 40x30m and 36x28m in size and cut in to White Limestone, a local building stone. (1-2)
