Description
A trackway of medieval/post medieval date is visible on historic aerial photographs and remote sensing data as extant earthworks and levelled earthworks and was mapped as part of the North Buckinghamshire Aerial Investigation and Mapping project (EBC18304). Located approximately 270m east of the site of the manor house, Maid’s Moreton, and centred at SP 70951 35283. Parallel ditches, on each side of a trackway, are visible as earthworks at the western end, where modern land use is pasture, and as levelled earthworks at the eastern end. Part of the route is followed by a footpath on Ordnance Survey Epoch 1 historic mapping and it runs between areas of ridge and furrow field systems to the south of Wellmore. It is not mapped separately on the 1591 map of Maid’s Moreton. (1-5)
