Description

Two small ponds of probable medieval date are visible on historic aerial photographs and remote sensing data as extant earthworks and were mapped as part of the North Buckinghamshire Aerial Investigation and Mapping project (EBC18304). Located approximately 300m south of South End, Leckhampstead, and centred at SP 73165 36822. Two small ponds and ditches between them are visible as earthworks, between ridge and furrow earthworks, close to a watercourse. Current land use is paddocks and the most recent aerial photographs do not show any of these earthworks clearly but this could be due to lighting conditions; earthworks in the field to the north, also in use as paddocks, appear to have been levelled.
