Description
An extractive pit medieval/post medieval date is visible on historic aerial photographs and remote sensing data as extant earthworks and was mapped as part of the North Buckinghamshire Aerial Investigation and Mapping project (EBC18304). Located at Willow Wood Barn (formerly Lower End Farm) and centred at SP 73811 37347. Pit is 50x28m and underlying solid geology is White Limestone (a local building stone) overlain by Superficial Deposits of Till. This pit is on the outside of an area of shrunken settlement at Willow Wood Barn (formerly Lower End Farm) and appears to have a trackway leading to it. The area has also been affected by landslip deposits. (1-5)
