- TRACKWAY (Post-Medieval - 1540 AD to 1798 AD)
Description
A trackway of probable post medieval date is visible on historic aerial photographs as earthworks and was mapped as part of the North Buckinghamshire Aerial Investigation and Mapping project (EBC18304). Located to the south of Leckhampstead Road near Willow Cottage, Akeley, and centred at SP 70980 37457. This short length of trackway is visible as an earthwork towards an earlier routeway (undated by a test pit as part of the Whittlewood Project) and ridge and furrow field systems beyond. Modern land use is houses and gardens but earthwork can still be seen on lidar visualisation. (1-4)
