Description
A road of medieval/post medieval date is visible on historic aerial photographs and remote sensing data as earthworks and was mapped as part of the North Buckinghamshire Aerial Investigation and Mapping project (EBC18304). Located at Beachampton Hall, Beachampton, and centred at SP 76824 37181. This road runs approximately east west from Beachampton Hall, across possible former parkland/former gardens, and continues across areas of ridge and furrow towards the site of a field barn which is shown on the Stony Stratford Ordnance Surveyors’ drawing and the Epoch 1 Ordnance Survey map. This road is visible as earthworks of ditches on either side of a raised surface and the barn was still standing in 1975. The field names crossed by this road are Great Queens Close and Little Queens Close in 1771. (1-8)
