Description
An area of Medieval village shrinkage is visible on historic aerial photographs and remote sensing data as earthworks and was mapped as part of the North Buckinghamshire Aerial Investigation and Mapping project (EBC18304). Located in fields west of Home Farm, Poundon and centred at SP 64786 25401, a network of interconnected linear ditches form an irregular complex of enclosures, platforms, possible pond and boundary ditches that extend across an area about 117 metres SW-NE and 130 metres NW-SE. On aerial photographs taken in 2019, many of the earthworks are still visible, though those to the west now lie within the back gardens of residential housing that were built between 1961 and 1973 and have been levelled (1-5).
