Description
Medieval field boundaries are visible on aerial photographs as cropmarks and were mapped as part of the North Buckinghamshire Aerial Investigation and Mapping project (EBC18304). Located on a meadow at Three Shire Pit on the north bank of River Great Ouse and centred at SP 60745 35684, two intersecting curvilinear ditches about 2 metres wide extend about 141 metres aligned NNE-SW and 167 metres W-ENE. These boundary ditches appear to connect to medieval and/or post-medieval field boundaries recorded on the 1884 dated 1st Edition OS map (1-4).
