Description

Medieval field boundaries are visible on aerial photographs as cropmarks and were mapped as part of the North Buckinghamshire Aerial Investigation and Mapping project (EBC18304). Located on a meadow on the north bank of River Great Ouse and centred at SP 61309 35666, a curvilinear ditch about 1.5 metres wide extends about 310 metres aligned SE-WSW. It has two short ditches extending NE and E from it about 1/3 and ½ along its course These boundary ditches appears to connect to medieval and/or post-medieval field boundaries recorded on the 1884 dated 1st Edition OS map. A probable 20th century land drain, 1.5 metres wide and 145 metres long is also visible as a cropmark and bisects the field boundary WSW-ENE (1-3).
