Description
A possible Bronze Age ring ditch, is visible on aerial photographs as a cropmark and was mapped as part of the North Buckinghamshire Aerial Investigation and Mapping project (EBC18304). Located in a field about 200 metres S of Cow Pond Copse and centred at SP 64650 37730, a ring ditch up to 1 metre wide encloses an internal area about 7 metres in diameter. It should be noted that the 2006 dated aerial photograph from which this feature was mapped lacks high resolution, is quite poorly defined and appears best when subject to image processing. However, the cropmark does not appear on any of the other aerial photographs available to the project. Some 14 metres to the NW of the ring ditch is a slightly sinuous ditch up to 1 metres wide, that extends 58 metres NW-SE. Any relationship to the ring ditch is unclear (1-2).
