Description

A probable Bronze Age ring ditch, but possibly a medieval and/or post-medieval windmill mound, is visible on historic aerial photographs as a cropmark and was mapped as part of the North Buckinghamshire Aerial Investigation and Mapping project (EBC18304). Located in a field along a ridge adjacent Appledere, just north of Huntsmill Farm and centred at SP 63803 35876, a ring ditch up to 1.5 metres wide encloses an internal area about 13.5 metres in diameter. A similar feature lies centred 50 metres to the north (HER MBC44922) (1).
