Description

Possible medieval and/or post-medieval drainage ditches or trackways are visible on remote sensing data as earthworks and was mapped as part of the North Buckinghamshire Aerial Investigation and Mapping project (EBC18304). Located within Three Parks Wood and centred at SP 65494 39218, a sinuous and curvilinear ditch between 2 and 4 metres wide extends in an irregular arc within the woodland for about 590 metres. A second sinuous ditch or trackway up to 4 metres wide extends about 150 metres N-S through the middle of the wood. These do not match the system of trackways depicted on historic OS maps, which are also still visible as earthworks on lidar bisecting and overlying these ditch features where they cross (1-2).
