Description

A road of medieval/post medieval date is visible on historic aerial photographs as levelled earthworks and was mapped as part of the North Buckinghamshire Aerial Investigation and Mapping project (EBC18304). Located west of Beachampton Grove Farm, Beachampton, and centred at SP 79112 36518. The course of a road is shown on the 1814 map of Stony Stratford passing to the west of Beachampton Grove Farm, visible as an earthwork along a hedge on aerial photographs and as a slight earthwork south of this and lidar visualisations show also a levelled earthwork. Road is shown on transcription of 1771 map with field names of Highway Ground and Lower Highway Ground and labelled road from Winslow. Google Earth also shows cropmarks on this line and a footpath in 2004. Continues from a road starting in Nash, shown on 1813 Winslow and 1814 Stony Stratford maps (see MBC44027) (1-6)
