Description

A woodland boundary of medieval date is visible on remote sensing data as earthworks and was mapped as part of the North Buckinghamshire Aerial Investigation and Mapping project (EBC18304). Located within College Woods, Great Horwood, and centred at SP 79195 33156. A reconstruction of the area that became College Woods is shown in a PhD thesis which identifies this as the boundary of Baggs Coppice with Rushmore coppice to the north and Butchers (also Ridge) Coppice to the south. It is visible on lidar visualisations as a ditch along the whole length and a bank and ditches at the northern end. No boundaries are shown on the 1813 map of the woodland. (1-3)
