Description

A former extractive pit of post medieval/modern date is visible on historic aerial photographs and remote sensing data as levelled earthworks and was mapped as part of the North Buckinghamshire Aerial Investigation and Mapping project (EBC18304). Located approximately 630m east of Town End, Nash, and centred at SP 478812 234699. Underlying geology is superficial deposits of Head overlying Peterborough Mudstone. It was probably a former marl pit based on its location in the middle of a field. (1-2)
