Description

Two maculae of possible late prehistoric date are visible on historic aerial photographs as cropmarks and were mapped as part of the North Buckinghamshire Aerial Investigation and Mapping project (EBC18304). Located approximately 350m to the north of Dodley Hill Farm, Swanbourne, and centred at SP 79831 28711. Maculae are sub circular and approximately 4x6m and 6x8m in diameter. Underlying geology is Diamicton overlying West Walton mudstone. There is a partial oval enclosure and other maculae approximately 380m to the west also visible as cropmarks in another arable field (see MBC43727). (1)
