Description

Linear features and maculae of possible late prehistoric date are visible on historic aerial photographs as cropmarks and were mapped as part of the North Buckinghamshire Aerial Investigation and Mapping project (EBC18304). Located approximately 400m north west of Moco Farm, on the north side of the railway, Little Horwood and centred at SP 78688 28996. Cropmarks are of straight linear features of which one could be associated with a former field boundary, but others are curving and do not follow any alignment visible on historic mapping. The maculae are irregular shaped and appear to not to extend past some of the linear features. A Geophysical survey nearby has recorded the existence of possible hearths and pits (see MBC25289) at The Hollows and these cropmarks may be part of the wider extent of these features. (1-3)
