Description
A sinuous section of medieval or post-medieval roadway is visible on historic aerial photographs and remote sensing data as earthworks and was mapped as part of the North Buckinghamshire Aerial Investigation and Mapping project (EBC18304). Located in fields west of Coddimoor Farm and centred at SP 80179 32913, sections of earthwork bank about 6 metres wide extend in a sinuous course for about 511 metres from SP 80318 33118 to SP 80034 32740. The bank has a 3.5 metres wide boundary ditch on the west side and matches the course of a road or track depicted on an Ordnance Surveyor Drawing dated 1813. Visible as earthworks in 1946, aerial photographs taken in 2019 and recent remote sensing data suggest that the northern half of the mapped roadway has since been plough levelled (1-4).
