Description

A probable post-medieval ha ha is visible on historic aerial photographs and remote sensing data as structure and earthworks and was mapped as part of the North Buckinghamshire Aerial Investigation and Mapping project (EBC18304). Located on a property boundary about 55 metres to the south of the late 16th century The Old House in Swanbourne and centred at SP 80310 27181, a linear sunken wall is about 0.5 metres wide and at least 47 metres long aligned WSW-ENE. Immediately to the south, the wall contains a 2.5 metres wide x 61 metres long ditch aligned WSW-ENE that turns SW for a further 9 metres. South of this is a 5 metres wide slope about 60 metres long, aligned WSW-ENE (1-3).
