Description

A post-medieval square ditched enclosure is visible on historic aerial photographs as earthwork and was mapped as part of the North Buckinghamshire Aerial Investigation and Mapping project (EBC18304). Located in a field about 693 metres E of Richmond Hall and centred at SP 83015 28102, a sub-square (parallelogram shaped) ditch between about 1.5 and 2.3 metres wide encloses an internal area about 16.5 metres square. Constructed on a block of medieval and/or post medieval ridge and furrow cultivation, this feature may be a pound or stock enclosure. On aerial photographs taken in 2019 and recent remote sensing data, the feature is not visible and appears to have been plough-levelled (1-3).
