Description

A post-medieval drainage system is visible on historic aerial photographs as earthworks and was mapped as part of the North Buckinghamshire Aerial Investigation and Mapping project (EBC18304). Located in a field about 280 metres SE of Dean Tithe Farm and centred at SP 83901 26041, linear and interconnected ditches up to 1.5 metres wide extend across an area about 155 metres W-E and 131 metres N-S. There is no evidence of medieval and/or post medieval ridge and cultivation within the field which sits within a low-lying and presumably wet area next to a watercourse. On aerial photographs taken in 2019 and recent remote sensing data, the features appear to have been almost plough-levelled (1-3).
