Description

A circular mound of uncertain date and function is visible on remote sensing data as earthworks and was mapped as part of the North Buckinghamshire Aerial Investigation and Mapping project (EBC18304). Located in a field about 290 metres WNW of Dean Farm and centred at SP 82987 26509, a low circular earthwork mound is about 22 metres in diameter. On aerial photographs taken in 1944 the feature is visible, but barely. It is possible that tis is the remains of a Bronze Age barrow or possibly a medieval/post-medieval windmill mound (1).
