Description
Probable medieval settlement platforms and boundary ditches are visible on historic aerial photographs as earthworks and was mapped as part of the North Buckinghamshire Aerial Investigation and Mapping project (EBC18304). Located in two fields between The Lower Farm and Love Row at Drayton Parslow and centred at SP 84424 28734, a rectangular earthwork platform about 24.5 N-S and 16 metres W-E is bounded on three sides by a ditch about 3 metres wide. Immediately north of this is an earthwork bank about 19 x 6 metres of uncertain function. Some 85 metres to the NE is a three-sided boundary ditch that varies between 2 and 3.5 metres wide, with the south side bound by a field boundary, and enclosing an internal area 34 x 30 metres. Recent remote sensing data and aerial photographs taken in 2019 indicates that these features remain extant (1-4).
