- EXTRACTIVE PIT (Post-Medieval - 1540 AD to 1798 AD)
Description
A large post medieval extractive pit is visible on historic aerial photographs as earthworks and was mapped as part of the North Buckinghamshire Aerial Investigation and Mapping project (EBC18304). Located in a field between The Lower farm and Love Row at Drayton Parslow and centred at SP 84463 28730, the irregularly shaped pit is about 2,288 square metres in area on aerial photographs taken in 1944. Recent remote sensing data and aerial photographs taken in 2019 indicates that this area has been roughly filled and levelled. The extraction pit does not appear on OS mapping (1-4).
