Description

An extractive pit of post medieval/modern date is visible on historic aerial photographs and remote sensing data as extant earthworks and was mapped as part of the North Buckinghamshire Aerial Investigation and Mapping project (EBC18304). Located on the west side of Church Street, Little Horwood, and centred at SP 78950 30855. Irregular shaped pit with steep, squared edges is visible ion aerial photographs, on Google streetview and on lidar visualisations. It is opposite the church and is surrounded by earthworks of the shrunken settlement of Little Horwood. (1-5)
