- BOUNDARY DITCH (Medieval to Post-Medieval - 1066 AD to 1798 AD)
Description
Linear boundaries of probable medieval/post medieval date are visible on historic aerial photographs and remote sensing data as earthworks and were mapped as part of the North Buckinghamshire Aerial Investigation and Mapping project (EBC18304). Located on the west side of Winslow Road and centred at SP 76504 25467. These ditches align with/continue existing/historical boundaries, visible as ditches on aerial photographs and on lidar visualisations, forming possible garden/yard boundaries. On a different alignment to, but aligning with, other boundaries around the shrunken medieval settlement to the south. Modern land use (partly arable and partly equestrian) has infilled/removed the earthworks in some places. (1-2)
