Description

ON NW SIDE OF DUNDRIDGE FARM IS 1 WATERFILLED ARM OF A PROBABLE HOMESTEAD MOAT. NO TRACE OF A CONTINUATION COULD BE SEEN, BUT A POND TO S OF FARM COULD HAVE FORMED PART OF THE FEATURE (B2,5).




Dundridge Farm, house and moat; the house, built in the 17th century, almost entirely refaced with brick in the 18th or early 19th century. Of the moat, only fragments remain. (B5)
Dundridge Manor, SP 918067 is almost certainly a Saxon site with medieval manor and moat. No sign of moat on available Aps (RAF 1945) (B8).
On the NW side of Dundridge Farm is one waterfilled arm of a probable homestead moat. No trace of a continuation could be seen, but a pond to the S of the farm could have formed part of the feature. The house is as described and not outstanding. No evidence of Saxon occupation was found. Published survey (25") revised (B9).
