Description

A sewage works of World War II date is visible on historic aerial photographs as extant structures and buildings and was mapped as part of the North Buckinghamshire Aerial Investigation and Mapping project (EBC18304). Located 210m east of Spring Lane, Great Norwood, and centred at SP 77339 30693. Sewage works on the plan shows a manhole for bucket emptying, a tool house and destructor house (?incinerator); the filter beds, a building and the large circular tanks are not labelled. The tanks and filter beds visible on modern aerial photographs are replacements for these shown on the 1940s photographs. Full information of what was on site is available on the RAF plan. (1-5)
